ABOC Platinum Rewards: Final Thoughts
The ABOC Platinum Rewards credit card is a solid card. Coming from someone with over 12 credit cards, there is ALWAYS value in cards that have no annual, sign up bonuses and the some type of rewards program.
The sign up bonus- $150 after you spend $1,200 within the first 90 days is just alright. There are other credit cards out there that offer you the ability to earn $150 after you spend $500 within the first 90 days.
However the ABOC Platinum Rewards Card does allow you to earn 5x points on purchases made within certain categories. That’s a plus because you could rack up some serious points easily. And real quickly each point earned is equivalent to one dollar. So in other words the 5x points that’s earned is like 5% cash back. For example if you spend $100 and you earn 5x points you would have 5 points which is the same as $5. Hopefully that was a decent example 🙂
0% introductory APR offer on purchases and balances are always good. The introductory offer with the ABOC Platinum Rewards Card is for 12 months. You can save some serious money if you do a balance transfer from a credit card that has a high APR. So doing a balance transfer may be something you should consider if it’ll benefit you.
ABOC Platinum Rewards Credit Card totally fails here:
Now when it comes to the 3% foreign transaction it’s just ok. There are other credit cards that does NOT have any foreign transaction fees. So if that’s a deal breaker for you then you probably won’t get this card.
